Tao Te Ching, Chapter 68
Lao Tzu
Anger is a loss of control, a weapon that turns against its wielder. In the Taoist tradition, mastery in any struggle comes not from overpowering others, but from maintaining inner tranquility. This runs counter to the prevailing view of combat as a fiery clash of wills. The best fighter understands that true strength flows from calmness, reflecting the Taoist ideal of harmonious balance.
